Make Your Own Havaianas 2014

5:46 pm

MYOH 2014 is here! It's a bit earlier than usual but I must say, I prefer having MYOH during summer, it's more reasonable to customize a pair of Havaianas that way. Anyhow, I know everyone who's been part of the biggest flip-flop customization event in the country are all hyped up by this announcement. It's that time of the year when you won't mind standing for hours just to match the perfect sole and strap color!

"As a highlight for the ninth year of this event, a 200-year old tradition from Brazil was the inspiration behind this year’s commemorative pair featuring colorful Bonfims -- Brazilian wish ribbons that are worn for good luck. The print wishes every wearer Alegria, Diversao, Empolgacao, Euforia, and Felicidade or Joy, Amusement, Excitement, Euphoria and Bliss – true to the Havaianas always summer spirit" -Spruce

Few nights ago, Spruce hand-delivered to me an invitation to the First Dibs event, I was really awed by the act. They handed me a huge box and wondered how an invitation card could be this big, just to find out that they also sent me a mardi gras headdress! It then gave me an idea that Carnaval Rio de Janeiro would somehow be the theme this year - the biggest carnival parade in the world.
This year, Havaianas is going back to its Brazilian roots and letting Philippines have a glance of its culture. When I went inside the spruce store for the First Dibs Event, I literally felt I was part of the Carnaval - Splashes of vibrant colors, festive vibe, lively music, and a group of happy people to escort you.
It won't feel like Carnaval without the Mardi Gras headdress! I don't usually get to wear one, so I felt the need of wearing the headdress while I was picking my Havaianas pair. For my outfit, it'll be on a separate post to be published tomorrow.
This year, I chose to personalize a Havaianas top. Navy blue soles with fuchsia straps with 2 mandala pins. What kind of pair will you be getting this year? You can also simulate what kind of pair you would want to get this year, online. Visit www.myoh.havaianasphilippines.com for more details. Drop by Spruce, Limketkai Center from May 15-20, 2014 to customize your own pair!

Before I end this post, I'd like to thank my Spruce familia for the invite and for my MYOH2k14 pair. God Bless and more power to Spruce!
